My Greenwich local, The Pelton Arms on Pelton Road SE10 just by the river side, is hosting a afternoon of bric-a-brac, second hand clothing/accessories sales event raising money for the Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice - and there's always some great items up for grabs. The event is on Sunday 12th June starting at 2pm until 6pm. The Ladies and Gentlemen Club is also now a bit of a fixture on a Thursday evening for a drink, food and a few tunes selected by Glenn Tilbrook, or check out 'The Ronnies' when they next play a gig here.

Mexican Papier Mache Dolls
Brighton this Saturday and whenever I'm in this neck of the woods there's always a visit to Blackout at 53 Kensington Place. Couldn't resist these Mexican dolls complete with painted circus ring outfit and glitter. The owner asked what I was going to do with them; not sure, so they are huddled in a bunch on the 60s sideboard until I came come up with something.
Saltaire
It was open house day in Saltaire, West Yorkshire, last bank holiday weekend so it was good opportunity to have a bit of a snoop around some of the houses built by Titus Salt and then over to Salts Mill and the 1865 Gallery which houses a collection of paintings and theatre sets by David Hockney. On Friday evening the House of Rose and Brown (run by Caroline and Julian Brown) also put on a delicious catwalk show from their collection of clothing from the 1930s onwards. Great news to see that Caroline and Julian are opening a second shop in Saltaire. If you are in the area, do drop by to one of their excellent events of various stallholders with rails of fabulous secondhand clothing and household treasures.
